Avoidable food waste became the most frustrating aspect of my work as a professional chef. The general knowledge about food waste in our country is perversely small. Worse still, is the lack of information made accessible to us about how we can help prevent the ongoing battle of food waste we face.

It is now my mission to advocate and educate others about the importance of reducing food waste, utilising what we can, and its overall impact on our planet and the economy.

  • 40% of all food is thrown away every single year.

  • The no.1 way to reduce your carbon footprint is to reduce your food waste

  • 75% of all food waste was still edible when put in the bin

  • The average uk household will throw away £2 of food a day. That's £730 a year.

  • "Industrialised nations need to learn what it means to live in scarcity, because the appearance of infinite abundance is an illusion"

Tristram Stuart - Waste, Uncovering the global food scandal

  • by 2050, the world will require 56% more food production to meet the demand of overpopulation
